About the group

The Spice Merchant group encompasses 4 restaurants across the south east: Beaconsfield, Cookham, Henley-on-Thames and Uxbridge

Within the Spice Merchant group there are 9 Chefs from the different regions of India. Between them they have created a menu that crosses India from the north to the south and all of the different dishes, flavours and tastes of the regions. It is rare that you will find an Indian restaurant which offers sophisticated meals which are authentic and traverses the regional tastes of India.

The wine list supports the menu, allowing you to complement your meal with the best drinks possible.

The Spice Merchant group prides itself in using the best ingredients at every stage of the cooking progress, cooking all of its meals from scratch and making each meal to the highest standards.

About the owner, Bashir Islam

Bashir has been in the restaurant industry fro over 30 years, working in Portsmouth, Essex and London. After he moved to Uxbridge, where he met his wife in 1979, he decided that he wanted to build his own restaurant group based on the idea of creating high quality food that spanned all of India's diverse regions.

Bashir co-owns the group wife his wife , Aysha Islam. Bashir's personal aim of ensuring that all diners in his restaurant enjoy the experience of eating out is demonstrated throughout the Spice Merchant Group.
